Following the
great success of the Spring section of the
Ascona Music Festival entitled
“The Voice of the
Piano” the Festival will be presenting
an Autumn section which will be held in
September and will feature a special programme
of extremely high artistic value.
The Ascona Music Festival, in collaboration with
the International Academy of Euphony, will
feature an extraordinary event that represents
an ideal link between the Arts - a synergy
between Music and Colour, between Sound and
Light: the art exhibition
“TRANSPARENCIES” uby
Marga Baigorria,.
For the first time in Switzerland, the
exhibition will be showcasing the artist’s
highly original and evocative watercolours and
photographs.
The artist makes us discover an extremely
imaginary, fairy-tale world with unreal beings
and landscapes. It is like opening the doors to
a mysterious, elusive universe which induces us
to ask endless questions, while she “paints with
light”. The exhibition will be held from the 8th
until the 29th September 2012 in the historic
Art Gallery ‘Il Cavalletto’ in Locarno.
The Ascona Music Festival will also present a
series of films directed by the multi-award
winning French director
Bruno
Monsaingeon, , dedicated to three great
classical musicians of the 20th century: the
pianist Sviatoslav Richter, the violinist
Yehudi Menuhin and the baritone
Dietrich
Fischer-Dieskau.
Bruno
Monsaingeon has gained wide international
acclaim for his books and documentary films on
the greatest classical musicians of our time.
We will have the privilege of having the
director himself introducing two evenings,
discussing his work in filmmaking and his
encounters and friendships with musicians of a
similar magnitude. The films will be screened on
10th, 1 7th, 24th and 26th September 2012 in the
Sopracenerina Hall in Locarno.
Everyone is invited to participate in these two
artistically and culturally unique events that
are for classical music and art lovers
everywhere.
